Explore Issues Through Women's Perspectives and Lived Experiences
Let’s say it right up front: as a women’s university, we believe St. Kate’s has a built-in advantage in the women’s studies department! You’ll study with other women committed to reflection, exploration, and action across the entire range of topics and disciplines that shape and define women’s experiences in our past, present, and future.
Drawing from diverse disciplines like biology, English, history, philosophy, psychology, and theology, our women's studies program addresses issues from women’s lived perspectives. Students are educated as intellectual leaders, workplace and community innovators, and social justice activists.
Gain internship experience while pursuing your studies. Recent interns served at the Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy, Women’s Prison Book Project, Minnesota Women’s Consortium, Women’s Art Institute, Casa de Esperanza, African American Family Services, Hmong Women Achieving Together, and Women’s Initiative for Self Empowerment.
