So Many Ways to Strengthen Your Spanish Skills
Faculty members periodically lead intensive language programs in Mexico and Spain. Spanish degree students are encouraged to study abroad through programs offered in countries such as Argentina, Chile, Dominican Republic, Peru, and Spain.
We offer service learning, internship, and employment opportunities to build your skills with local nonprofits serving Spanish-speaking communities.
In addition, the Spanish Club will help you expand your Spanish speaking abilities and cultural knowledge with activities and volunteering, including Hispanic cooking nights, salsa dancing, theater productions, Hispanic film festivals, museum outings, and more.
Spanish speakers have a built-in advantage in today’s job market. A St. Kate’s Spanish major (or minor) will prepare you for careers in government, business, nonprofits, or education, including
- federal foreign service
- corporations operating globally
- local or state agencies
- nonprofits and non-governmental organizations (NGOs)
- teaching at colleges, high schools, or immersion schools and camps
A major in Spanish will also position you to pursue graduate study, either in the U.S. or abroad.
